White Belt

Training Time: 2 months

White Stripe (Knowledge)

  • We practice Korean Martial Arts
  • Our Style of Martial Arts is called “Moo Duk Kwan”
  • “Mook Duk Kwan” means “School of Martial Virtue

Orange Stripe (Movement)

  • Ha Dan Mahk Kee (low block)
  • Chun Dan Kong Kyuk (middle punch)

Green Stripe (Kicking):

  • Ahp Cha Nut Gi (front kick) – focus on chamber of knee
  • Ahp Podo Ol Ri Gi (limber-up kick)

Red Stripe (Partner Work): 

  • Sparring: no contact, sparring gear optional
White Gold Belt

Training Time: 2 months

White Stripe (Knowledge)

  • Self-Discipline Sheet: Learn the importance of helping others, going above and beyond, and doing the right thing without being told

  • Sang Dan Mahk Kee (high block)
  • Sang Dan Kong Kyuk (high punch)

Green Stripe (Kicking):

  • Yup Podo Cha Gi (side kick) – focus on chamber of knee
  • Ahp Cha Nut Gi (front kick) – focus on balance and rechamber of knee after kick

Red Stripe (Partner Work):

  • Sparring: no contact, hand and foot pads required

  • “Soo Bahk Do” means “The Way of the Foot and Hand”

Orange Stripe (Movement and Kicking):

  • Ha Dan Mahk Kee Teul Oh Sang Dan Kong Kyuk
    • Low block, high punch combo
  • Sang Dan Mahk Kee Teul Oh Chun Dan Kong Kyuk
    • High block, middle punch combo
  • Remember the block is always executed in a side stance, while the punch is executed in a front stance
